A cleansing balm is a thick blend of oils, waxes, plant-based surfactants and cosmetic clay that self emulsifies when mixed with water. They can be used to remove make-up or to cleanse the skin.. This balm works in the same way as an oil-based cleanser or make-up remover; it uses oils to remove the oils (make-up), dirt and impurities from the skin on your face.
Because the balm is blended with a natural emulsifier and a plant-based surfactant, when it is mixed with water it will self-emulsify into a creamy consistency with a light lather. It can be easily rinsed off with just water, without the need to use soap to remove it (unlike an oil-based cleanser).
